What the business needed

Rank Maxer is a software product rather than a local service business, so the website has a different job to do. The audience runs from small business owners who have never audited a website to developers who do it for a living, and the same page has to work for both. Explain too little and the technical visitor moves on. Explain it in the industry’s own vocabulary and everyone else gives up.

What was built

A single marketing site that takes a visitor from not knowing what a site audit is through to starting one, structured in four parts:

  • The platform, framed around who it is for, covering small business owners, creators, and marketers and developers, so each group can find themselves quickly
  • The checks, setting out what the software actually looks at: robots and access rules, sitemap health, metadata quality, content structure, performance signals and project history
  • The workflow, walking through the four steps of adding a project, validating crawl access, auditing pages and deciding what to fix first
  • Questions and answers, covering the things people ask before signing up

The copy carries the positioning throughout, leading with the problem of being lost in the jargon and answering it with plain language. A blog was included for ongoing articles.

Because the product sells technical credibility, the site had to hold up to the same standard it audits against. It ships with a robots file that permits crawling, a working sitemap, and a file that tells AI crawlers what the site is about.

The result

The site is live at rankmaxer.com, covering the product, the audit checks, the workflow and the questions people ask, with a blog for ongoing articles.
